The Clackamas County Business Alliance (CCBA), is pleased to announce the selection of Nellie deVries of deVries Strategies Inc. as Executive Director effective March 2015. She brings to the CCBA a wealth of experience including extensive involvement in the legislative process since 2006. She has served in a variety of governmental staff positions including the Oregon Speaker of the House’s Office, the Senate Minority Office and Congressman Greg Walden’s (R-Hood River) office in Washington D.C. In addition, Ms. deVries spent several years contracting with a range of interest groups inside and outside the Capitol.

Born and raised in Medford, Oregon, Ms. deVries graduated with two bachelors of Science in political science and speech communication at Oregon State University. She also received her JD from Willamette University College of Law. After law school she worked as the Director of Public Affairs at the Oregon Restaurant and Lodging Association. She then went to Salem Health where she developed the government affairs program at Salem Hospital and West Valley Hospital in Dallas, Oregon.

In addition to taking on the day to day operations of the CCBA, her immediate focus will be advocating for CCBA priorities and developing working relationships with Clackamas County leadership, Metro Council, and legislators. She will also work with CCBA members and resources to increase the strength of the Board and committees while concurrently building the association membership and influence within the community through new and existing relationships.  “Ms. deVries is the perfect match for the next level in our commitment to advocate for business issues with key decision-makers,” said CCBA President, John Howorth of 3J Consulting. John extends the invitation to welcome and congratulate Nellie deVries as the new CCBA Executive Director. She may be reached at nellie@ccba.biz.
